Arising from two former bands, Tyfoid Mary started in october of 2000 when Dugan(drummer) and ex-bassist Rayn sawVinnie(vocals) perform as a guest with a band. Inmediately they asked him to join the new project and then Scott (guitarist) rounded up the new group. Right away the band started writing songs and went in the studio in the spring of 2001, releasing the acclaimed debut “Sympthoms”. Then after a month from the realease of the recording original singer Vinne P Sttot died in a car accident. The future was uncertain and the remaining of the band almost gave up playing music altogether…through a common friend the band got acquainted with Jerry(vocals) and after a couple of jams they decided to keep the band going. As the band was getting ready to record their second album former bassist Ryan, not staisfied with the direction the new music was heading decided to leave the fold in order to pursue other musical interests. Once more the cricumstance didn’t slow the band at all and recrutied Igor as the new bass player. In the summer 2002 the band headed to the studio to record their new album. Released in early fall “Nu Strain” reafirmed Tyfoid as one the premier heavy acts in Denver and Colorado, The band spent most of the ramaining of 2002 plying gigs promting “Nu Strain”. At the moment Tyfoid is writing new songs for their third album, expecting an early summer release.
