Mike Ness Returns To His Roots

Infamous punk rock singer Mike Ness of the long time favorite band Social Distortion is going on tour without the rest of the guys.

Ness’ solo project titled “Cheating at Solitaire” pays homage to his influences by covering songs and bringing out their sounds in his music. His influences are giants such as Jonny Cash, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, and Creedence Clearwater Revival to name a few. As you can see Mike Ness is going way back in rock and roll history to bring some of the greatest music of all time back in the spotlight (Not that it ever left).

The music Ness put together is mesh of country and western mixed with his punk rock tendencies. This unique sound goes well with the talented singer/songwriter Jesse Dayton whom will open up for Ness. The sound of both artists is great and the performances will be one not to miss. Mad Libs Gothic Style…

Here at The Gothic Theatre we think our visiting artists create quite a unique game of Mad Libs…here goes (check out the capital letters!):

As spring sprung in Denver, Colorado, THE AFTER PARTY set forth on a journey to find new BAD MANNERS.

Little did they know HONEYDRIPS and STEEL TRAINS were also planning on a trip to BOUNCING SOUL land.

As everyone approached their final destination on their long safari, DARK LOTUS’ took over and took everyone hostage until they’d sing TIGER ARMY and LADYTRON lullabies.

Ok…we know it’s not great, but check out the bands anyway!

Drowning Pool Returns For Another Swim!

Drowning Pool will be returning to the Gothic on Wedesday, April 30th for the second time in the last year to promote their latest album “Full Circle”.

At the previous concert Drowning Pool had a great support line up including the powerful yet molodic band The Exies, and Denver’s own hard rockers Random Hero.

When Drowning Pool took the stage the crowd was well warmed up and ready to see Drowning Pool’s new set. The songs were mostly off of the new ablum, but there was still time for classics such as “Tearing Away” and the chart topper “Bodies”. They even threw in a cover of Billy Idol.

This year’s show will be just as entertaining as it was the last time, and the support will be great as always.

For all you punk rockers there is a new band that is gaining a lot of interest. Broadway Calls, created in Oregon, is a powerful yet melodic punk rock band that is starting to become very popular.
