October 2003: Guitarist, Nate Conn, and bassist, Justin Eversman — after a combined 7 years with Denver’s NoParticularOrder and Crippler — team up with hardcore drummer, Chris VanMeter, of Dopehead and Crippling Hip Deformity. These three plan for a new future for metal. Their driving, rhythmic assaults cross many genres, but pieces are still missing. . .
March 2004: Three years after leaving New York and Withered Earth (Dwell Records (2000), Olympic Recordings (2001, 2003)), lead guitarist Nate Maciejewski is ready to unleash his skills. A referral from Mark Obermeyer was all it took. Now, just one more piece. . .
June 2004: Friday night. Denver. A conversation. A few days later, vocal auditions come to grinding halt. Chris Vigil, former vocalist of Throcult (Crash Records, 2003), steps in and completes the sonic monstrosity. Now, this five piece needs a name. . .
Torture Device is actively preparing to perform and record.
