Dayton, Ohio based band, the Story Changes, is reaching their dreams the old fashioned way, through hard work and committed touring. Singer/songwriter Mark McMillon refined the band and changed their name after over five years under the name Rod. After a stretch of releases on smaller labels, the band, as Rod, released an album on the Southern California company Glue Factory Records, a subsidiary of the Fortune 500 company Oglio Records. Promotional help from the label and their amazing distribution through ADA (Alternative Distribution Alliance) helped Rod build a small buzz with their album The Story Changes Every Day. The band persistently followed up the late 2000 release by spending eight months of the following year on the road. In 2002 they found time to release the live album Broken Bottles Open Cheers and continue the consistent touring. A ten song split cd with Midwestern veterans The Change (formerly Sparechange00) came out in May of 2003. The Story Changes is currently touring most of the summer in support of the split and preparing material for a new album.
- The band was a 2003 Semifinalist in the prestigious 97xposure Midwestern band contest.
- They have been selected by the Ernie Ball Company to play a date on the 2004 Vans Warped Tour.
- The Story Changes is sponsored by SIT guitar strings and Rokenrol skateboard apparel.
