The Highland Mountain Boys

HMB started with the chance meeting of punk drummer Bretton ‘the Denver Dutchman’ and the lone guitar plucker Johnny Crow. Sharing a love of the classic country heroes and modern alt-country stylings, the two paired up with a vision of country music: go big and have fun doing it. Make music everyone who loves country (with a hint of rockabilly) loves to listen to. Filling a room with music using only 2 musicians has proven to be a worthy challenge for the Highland heroes—but using intricate drumlines paired with swinging acoustic and electric guitar and harmonica, the pair make it look easy. They switch up high-energy tunes of whisky and shotguns with lonely ballads of love and loss, and sprinkle in classic country style, all with a modern spin. The boys are a touring force many times during the year. They also count some of the most bad-ass musicians and bands nationwide as buddies. Although HMB is always down to party and has the rock star bevavior to back it up, it’s always about the music FIRST. We work our asses off to create and play the songs people want to hear. We always shoot to leave a trail of happy people at the end of every show. Plus, all you chicks out there are guaranteed to shake your backside at one of our shows…
