The December Question
The December Question formed in late 2002 when singer/guitarist Becky Alter’s attempt to find a lead guitarist was crashed by bass player Cameron Hays. Hays melded his unique take on the bass to Alter’s intensely personal singing and songwriting. At the beginning of 2004, the quest for a fuller overall sound, as well as a search for a new drummer/percussionist, led Alter and Hays to the discovery of James Crutchfield, one
of Denver’s top tasty drummers and multi-instrumentalists. In reconciling the diverse and sometimes contradictory musical influences of its members, The December Question crafts a bizarre melange of eclectic-yet-accessible art rock that they affectionately refer to as “avant rock”. Never content to be pigeonholed, The December Question has played shows with all manner of rock bands, metal projects, hip hop artists, the goth scene, and folk performers alike.
