The Angsted
We formed in december of 2003. I had met Davey, who claimed to be a singer. (ha!), I played guitar, and so we dicided to form a band. I came up with the name The Angsted for two reasons. Reason 1. I knew all the dumb fuckin hardcore kids would make a big deal and say all the dumb shit they do, like “THE ANGST-DID-DID” when they all idolize a band called FORK KNIFE SPOON. Reason 2. Who fuckin cares? I think its pretty sweet name. Well enough about that. We needed to find a drummer and a bassist. So I called Fat Tony who worked with (our first drummer) Adrian. SO we put together a few practices (vitually none of which Davey even fuckin came to, just for the record) but it all seemed to work pretty well. However, in February, Adrian told us that he had started to develop carpal tunnel syndrom and if he continued to strain his wrists like he was while drumming for us it would lead to permanent damge, so unfortunately, we lost Adrian. So we needed a repalcement fast due to our debut show feb. 20th. So, Davey (suprise) actually hooked us up with a kid named Billy Burke, so he played with us the first show, complete with too many fills and too fast tempos (true it is street punk but its not fuckin thrash) Well any ways, he bails on us right before our second show, so Eric Wilson of the Skamikazies saved our asses and filled in for us. So now we were in the position where we needed to get and permanent drummer, and, why not, another guitarist. So Joe Lenger from ASSHAT had showed interest in us, and with the demise of ASSHAT, he joined. Tony then called ANdy Ortiz and asked him to drum. And, we finally had our line up. Shortly there after, the band became fed up with the constant absence of Davey from numerous practice and all the other bullshit he pulled so we gave him the boot. I then sang and played guitar. Then after about 5 months of the same old same old, Johnny impossible of 7 dates 13 agreed to join to help us become more intricate (and so i wouldnt have to write most of the songs) So I then took over lead vocals and Johnny on lead guitar and backups along with Tony. And that is The Angsted you know and love today. Tearing you a new asshole one show at a time, and keeping your brains from beocming untra-conservative christian patriotic MUSH. We play chaos street punk, and currently are in the process of planning our tour to California. We dont have anything recorded as of now but hopefully that will soon change.
