Sheep On Drugs

Obsessed in their lyrics with sex, drugs and narcissistic rock ‘n’ roll, Sheep On Drugs, based in London, England, consist of Duncan and Lee. Their debut single, “Catch 22”, attacked the conventional nine-to-five slog of most workers. They are interested in shock value, as seen in their grisly theatrical shows and menacing urban soundscapes. Although widely compared to KMFDM, Ministry and particularly the Revolting Cocks, they see themselves as different to such “industrial” bands. The group signed to Island Records in 1993, making their debut with Greatest Hits, a collage of synthesized acid house sounds. Perhaps the finest moment on the follow-up collection came with “Sexdrive”, an invitation to hitchhikers to join them on their sinful car journeys. Although difficult to listen to over an entire album, Sheep On Drugs are fine in small doses. After being dropped by Island in 1994, the duo formed their own Drug Squad label.
