Rebirth Brass Band
Brass band music is joyful, heart-pumping and it was born and bred in soul-saturated New Orleans. Rebirth takes brassy funk to the city’s streets and clubs, doing second-line parades just about every Sunday and rocking regular gigs at night. But Rebirths reach is far beyond sweet-home New Orleans. Founded by tuba man and bandleader Phillip Frazier in 1983, Rebirth has toured the United States, Europe, and Africa. Frazier has compared brass music to gospel music saying “It’s very spiritual because the same feeling you get listening to gospel music, that feeling hits you with our band. It hits you in the heart, makes you want get up and shout”.
