Prism

Combining heavy elements of dance and electronic music with organic rock and funk undertones, PRISM looks to center their vast musical styles onto a singular path of flowing consciousness through their improvised explorations of musical time and space. Multi-layered, atmospheric keyboards and soaring guitar combine with a rhythm section that balances various electronic styles with heavy funk rock elements. The result is a genre-bending amalgamation that is both transcendentally fulfilling and logically captivating to its listeners. Building on the energy of their live shows, PRISM has quickly become the fastest growing funktronica band in the region.

Each member has played in various projects throughout the years. Allan Borukhovich has played bass for two national touring bands, Starunner and Orooni, and is quickly approaching his 500th show on the road. Jacob Smith played drums in the touring band The Weather Collective before relocating to Fort Collins to form PRISM with longtime friend Mark Palke, who can also be seen playing his acoustic guitar all over Colorado in the band Bigfoot County. Lastly, Sean Cohen played guitar in the long-defunct band FMC and all along the East Coast with various musicians during his years before moving back to Colorado.

With everything now in place, PRISM is ready to start spreading out beyond the scope of their home state. PRISM has played the Wakarusa Music Festival for the past two years and they’ve shared the stage with many notable bands such as: Karl Denson, Zilla, Garaj Mahal, Lotus, Green Lemon, Brothers Past, The Motet, Pnuma Trio, Future Rock, Down Lo, Andreas Kapsalis Trio, The K23 Orchestra, Rana, Bockman, Speakeasy, Eckobase, Members of the Broadway Musical STOMP, and Soleside featuring Kyle Hollingsworth of String Cheese Incident and Speech from Arrested Development.
