Poor Boyz Triple Threat Tour

Poor Boyz Productions of Redondo Beach, California is the creation of Johnny Decesare. Once a former professional mogul skier and a current avid surfer. Johnny left the competitive ranks to devote his life to capturing the mind blowing imagery and progression of professional skiing. Spending the year all around the worlds best Windsurfing and Skiing Destinations, allows Johnny and the Poor Boyz Production Crew to surround themselves with the worlds finest athletes both on the snow and in the water.

Being positioned in Redondo Beach puts Johnny and the Poor Boyz crew in some of the best working conditions around. Right next to Hollywood, we have the ability to work with some of the best editors, color-correctors, musicians and other random industry-folk in the biz today. Also, being 5 minutes from the beach certainly has its perks. We don’t break for lunch, we break for a surf session. Epic waves, brah!

The Poor Boyz Empire was built on documenting the most quintessential ski moments in history. Since then they have pushed forward to team up with the world’s best windsurfers, and document some of the most spectacular shots imaginable. Decesare started the movement from the ground up beginning with “Fade to Black”, “State of Mind”, and “Degenerate”. These films featured an explosion of new talent, namely Szocs, Cussion, Auclair, Dorion and Douglas whom are now considered the forefathers of freeskiing, and are still killing it in such films as “War” and “Ski Porn”. At the turn of the millennium came “13”, “The Game” and “Propaganda”, raising the bar and redefining park features and new standards in the backcountry. Featuring ground breaking progression from the likes of: Tanner Hall, The New Canadian Airforce, Phil Poirer, Candide Thovex, and Three Phil’s. Poor Boyz continued to lead the movement with the emergence of Pep Fujas, Anthony Boronowski, Boyd Easley, Kristi Leskinen and Jon Olson in “Happy Dayz”, “Ready Fire Aim”, “Session 1242”, and “Ten”. A season following, when “War”, Powder Video Awards movie of the year in 2005, dropped, Pep redefined the possibilities that exist on skis, as well as a slew of fresh talent for the 2005/2006 season including new comers: Sammy Carlson, the new Swede’s, Andy Mahre and the usual suspects, of course. In the year to follow Johnny and the crew would follow it up with “Ski Porn” quoted “A film of epic scope and magnitude”, and “pure and unadulterated”. Staring the likely talent of: JP Auclair, Pep Fujas, Andy Mahre, Seth Morrison, Sammy Carlson, and a slew of other heavyweights in the Freeskiing world. In 2007, PBP showed off the fun, creative side of ski-film making with “Yeah Dude”, narrated by those who made the movie rather than those whom it stars.

2008 was a monumental year, as Poor Boyz took a serious look at the sport so many of us dedicate our lives to. In “Reasons”, we took a look at what it is about skiing that draws us to it, and what it takes to keep it up day after day. After winning numerous awards including ‘Best Overall Film’, ‘Best Editing’, and ‘Best Trick’ at IF3 and ‘Best Core Film’ at X-Dance, “Reasons” has left a permanent notch on the pillar of ski films.

This season, Poor Boyz takes you on the road and into the day-to-day lives of skiers around the globe. No matter the terrain, the conditions, or the time of day; as long as friends and snow are together – Everyday is a Saturday.
