Paul McCandless, a member of the pioneering Paul Winter Consort, Bela
Fleck & the Flecktones and the relentlessly innovative quartet
Oregon, will be joining the Tony Furtado Band on a limited amount of
shows this winter.
Paul’s instrumental repertoire includes soprano saxaphone,
piccolo sax, English horn, bass clarinet, ethnic flutes,
synthesizers, and an arsenal of oboes. His extensive touring career
encompasses performing at Carnegie Hall & the United Nations at the
age of 19, and continuing to perform throughout the world at such
prestigous festivals as Kool Jazz, Telluride, Berlin, Montreaux,
Montreal, and Pori. As a member of Oregon he travelled to perform in
Asia for the US State Department.
Paul has recorded more than 100 albums and scores of
performance collaborations with such artists as Jaco Pastorius,
Wynton Marsalis, Carla Bley, Pat Metheney, Elvin Jones, Mark Isham,
Al Jarreau, and Bela Fleck.
