No Fair Fights is the child of four ambitious college students pursuing their childhood dream of playing in a rock band. It all began in February, 2002 with an audition practice. NFF learned covers in order to fill a set at their first show a few weeks later. They continued to play shows and began creating their own music. NFF recorded their first demo entitled “West of Everywhere” in the summer of 2002. The first year was packed with small shows and multiple “battle of the bands”, playing with their hearts on their sleeves, and intense passion to get their name out and to get people to come to the shows. With a little hard work and a slew of great songs, the word began to spread about NFF. NFF entered the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, which would earn them a spot on the Ernie Ball stage at the Vans Warped tour in summer 2003. NFF, along with 3 other deserving and great bands had the honor of playing at the Warped Tour alongside the bands that had inspired them over the years. After making a killing in CD and shirt sales, NFF headed west to Las Vegas for the New York International Music Festival. NFF’s first time on the road was an exhilarating experience. NFF met with some major record labels and made some new friends just in time to head back to Denver to record their second demo CD dubbed “The Lonely Flier”. Originally meant to contain five songs, the band only had sufficient funds to complete three of them. This effort proved to be NFF’s best work to date, and the band submitted the demo to several local record labels and radio stations around the Denver area. Several weeks later, the band heard one of their songs on local radio station KBPI. After more contacts with Clear Channel were established, the band went down to the studio for an interview that would be aired on KBPI the following week, along with the playing of their entire demo. Their songs are still being played on a consistent basis. NFF soon landed some shows in major venues in the Denver area. After being together for two years, the band is still rocking strong and following their dreams. Keeping their passion for writing great songs top priority, the band is preparing for what will prove to be a busy summer in 2004; a summer filled with shows, tours, and possibly a long awaited full-length album. Regardless of where their music leads them, No Fair Fights will always be about the music. That’s all that really matters, and all there really is.
