Field Of Grey

The band emerged onto the scene with full force in the summer of 2004 and immediately began touring the country. Made up of experienced musicians from several other succesful bands, Field of Grey knew it’s goals were attainable in a short amount of time and they set out to accomplish everyone of those goals.

After signing with indie label Level 3 records, Their debut release WARNING was recorded in the fall of 2005 and has already shown album sales worldwide and a rapidly growing fanbase as well. The band chose multi-platinum producer Scott Spelbring (Jason Mraz, SR-71, Plunge, The Speaks) of Dragonfly East Studios to put his magic touch on the record and in less than a month, the 12 song record was complete after countless 14 to 16 hour day sessions. WARNING was then sent off to Grammy winner Jay Frigoletto (Shinedown, Oasis, Inxs) for mastering and is currently being pushed to radio by Randy Sadd (The Black Crowes, Josh Joplin Group, Shawn Mullins, Tag Team) of Protocol Entertainment.

**The band’s ever growing rabid fanbase has become such a part of the band’s lives that a drink was created by a fan and dubbed The American Beauty in honor of their first release and has already spread throughout the country in numerous venues.

The band’s philosophy on fans, “We dont have fans, we have friends all over the world who just happen to like our music.”

The members in the band Field of Grey have each had success in their own right in several avenues of the entertainment industry, Lead Vocalist, Blackie Starks fronted World Empire records recording artists, Karma and had several songs in full rotation across the USA, opening for bands like Nickelback, Filter, Default, Our Lady Peace, and even headlined Baltimore Ravens Stadium for 98 Rock’s Big Night Baltimore with Jimmie’s Chicken Shack. Blackie also has film credits to his name as an extra in the Robin Williams film, Patch Adams and a small speaking role in an indoe film called Whisper. Blackie also has a song featured on the NASCAR DVD Adrenaline Vol 1 called Faster.

Lead Guitarist J.P. did the L.A. scene for several years where he played in a band with Macy Gray. His band, Storyteller was under contract with Don Arden Management and they shared the stage with greats such as Guns And Roses, Warrant, Poison and more. Soon after, he began touring the world as a hired gun often playing to crowds of 30,000 people or more.

Bassist, Robert Lloyd has been a first call studio session guy for several years and has recorded with Pavlov’s Dog, shared the stage with bands like Testament, Slayer, Hank WIlliams the 3rd, members of the famed Hellacasters, Tesla, and many more. Robert also has film credits to his name with a speaking part in both Killer Diller (in theatres now) and an indie film called Inbred Redneck Alien Abduction.

Drummer Da’lee Thomas wrote several songs with Jimmy on the Short Bus who shared the stage with bands like Crossfade and more. He then moved to the midwest where joined and toured the USA in the premeire Motley Crue tribute band Wildside sharing the stage with several classic rock greats like Foghat and others and would often play to packed houses of crowds 1000+ each night.

One listen to any of the songs on the record WARNING and the energy and emotion that was poured into the making of it, will grab your attention not only with masterful song arrangements but crafty lyrics as well that speak to the heart and mind. One listen to WARNING and you WILL want to own a piece of Field of Grey, but the raw untapped energy doesn’t stop there.
