“DJ Logic has a tone, a sound, a style of his own he became a musician first, and a DJ second…that is what sets him apart from the rest of the competition.” Says Vernon Reid. Despite his present claim to fame as the unofficial 4th member of Medeski Martin and Wood, DJ Logic has been playing live turntables with bands since the late 80’s when he was the founding member of the Black Rock Coalition.. Growing up in the Bronx at the same time hip-hop was growing up, Logic says " it was always just a part of my blood, my drinking water." Logic started rockin house parties at 14 all over the Bronx and up into Queens and Manhattan, and is probably one of the reasons he was referred to by Gig Magazine the " grandfather of live turntables." It was in 1996 when Medeski Martin and Wood hooked up with him. . 2 turn tables and a microphone and that ain’t all!
