Citron is one of the original and most popular hard rock/metal bands in the Czech Republic (CR). They started originally in 1976, and with most their current line- up in 1981, in Ostrava, in the former Czechoslovakia (CS). They have recently reunited and are playing extensively again in CR, at all their major festivals, stadium shows, and are currently on their first US tour, mainly for the local CS expatriate communities.
Citron has recorded 10 full-length albums, mainly in the 80’s, and sold over 1 million singles (in a country of 10M). Two of their most popular albums, Full of Energy and Radegast, were also released by a West German label and sold over half million both at home & Europe. They won the CS version of the Grammy’s, Slavik, in 1988. They’re currently recording a new CD, and have even prepared a rock version of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.
Citron has toured extensively, in CS, Europe and the former Soviet Union. They did several tours in both former East & West Germany, France, Poland, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Estonia, & even Uzbekistan. Their first US tour covers NY, Atlanta, Chicago, LA & Denver. See CSWorldnet.com (www.csworldnet.cz/citron/index.php4?lang=en) for the US tour details.
They’re backed up in most the cities by local CS-American bands, including Randal (www.RandalRock.com) in Denver. Randal plays a mix of originals and covers in both Czech & English. The concert is being presented in Denver by local part time CS-US promoter, Bouncing Czechs Productions (www.BouncingCzechs.us).
