This is the recipe for Beyond The Torchlight’s unique mix of heavy guitars, stirring female vocals, and cutting edge sensibility.
Beyond The Torchlight has been busy building a buzz on the Denver scene, and have just independently released their debut album, the Faithful Departed EP. The album is the first recording to truly capture the sound & the experience of the band. Response to the album has been tremendous, and it has launched a whole new fanbase for the group.
Realizing that success was not going to just fall into their lap, the members of Beyond The Torchlight raised the money themselves to have the Faithful Departed EP professionally recorded and mastered. The result is an album that stands head and shoulders above the average independent release, and sounds right at home next to the very artists that inspired them.
The band was formed in the fall of 2003, when Josh (guitars) and Bertrand (guitars) began talking about forming a group with a sound that is quite heavy musically, but with beautiful melodic vocals. When Kat (vocals) expressed interest in the project, they knew they had found the perfect voice for the group. Derek (Bass) brought the tight low end that was missing when he joined in the fall of 2004. Then, In the early summer of 2005, the band added the final pieces of the puzzle with DjNiNjA (Keyboards / Turntables) and finally Rob (Drums). The band has many years of experience between its members, and all of them are dedicated to playing music for themselves and for their audience. Refining their diverse musical influences into an uncompromising modern sound that never fails to impress, this band has to be experienced live to be fully appreciated.
Beyond The Torchlight is already making waves across the nation. They have played on the Vans Warped Tour, opened for National Touring Acts, and showcased for representatives from Epic, Atlantic, & Columbia Records.
