The battle of Antietam is the bloodiest single day in American history. Over 23.000 casualties were reported, and it’s easy to see that those soldiers sacrificed it all for what they believed in, for what they were truly passionate about.
With punching rhythms, smooth melodies, and a unique blend of hardcore style, Antietam proves to be a band about the music. Originally from Colorado, the foursome has been playing together since February of 2004. Each member had something to bring to the table, of course not everyone lasted. A few months and band member changes later, Antietam is now Joey VanHavermaat on drums, Sean Heinsman on lead guitar and vocals, Travis Gray on rhythm guitar and vocals, and Kyrt Ellis on bass guitar and vocals. In just under a year the group has written a number of amazing songs and recorded their first three song demo, as well as built a fan base playing shows including MTV’s Rock the Vote and @ Denvers Ogden Theatre.
Antietam is currently hoping to broaden their horizons, working everyday to accomplish one common goal—produce meaningful music that makes its way across the country, changing the way people hear music.
