Andrew Innes
Born on a deer station in the McKenzie Country (deep south) of New Zealand. Andy Innes has tried his hand at a number of jobs over the years including shepherding with a team of dogs, working in an underground goldmine in Australia as an explosives engineer, doing wildlife recovery in the States, Canada and Mexico netting animals from helicopters for biological research, and even fishing in Antarctica for Padagonian Tooth Fish. And now Djing on the international Hard Dance DJ circuit.
Innes is the owner and operator of Fevah Records in the USA [www.fevah.us]. Fevah Records currently operates in the UK (HQ), New Zealand, Australia and now the USA. Since Andy’s arrival in the US the Hard Dance music scene has had a major turn around for the better. Previous to Fevah Records operating and having an influence on the DJ circuit in the States, DJ’s were struggling to keep up to date with music and the styles with which the UK DJ’s were tearing dance floors apart all over the world. The USA is a good few years behind in the music scene but now club goers have the opportunity to hear one the few DJ’s who travels on a regular basis to spin hard dance in super clubs all over the world. Also giving aspiring local DJ’s the chance to witness what they read aboutonly in magazines and on the Internet.
Innes’ style of music is the kind that makes any one want to dance. Hard and uplifting is the way he likes it, massive buildups, chunky rolling baselines and beautiful easy-listening break downs is the key” Innes describes. He has a reputation of turning dance floors into a frenzy of excited people feeding off his tunes and also his stage presence. The Fevah crew believes that if your not dancing behind the decks as hard as the clubbers then you aren’t doing your job properly! Its all about crowd interaction and being a showman.
The next few years will proof to be a roller coaster ride for Innes and the rest of his DJ’s and producers. Bookings are piling up and record release events are currently being scheduled through mid 2004.
