Minus The Bear AKA “Idiosyncratic Indie Rock”

Minus The Bear has released albums with titles only very courageous bands would pick: Highly Refined Pirates, They Make Beer Commercials Like This, and Bands Like It When You Yell “Yar” At Them.

So why is their latest release, Planet of Ice, seemingly tamed down? One suggestion is that the boys are getting a little older, a little wiser. Whatever the reason, Planet of Ice is captivating.

Alternative Press gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars and this comment: “Planet Of Ice finds the Seattle quintet more comfortable in their own skin, exploring looser, more organic arrangements…” Check it out if you’re in the mood for something new, catchy, but highly thoughtful.
