11.18.11 NADASTROM w/ Samples, London Dungeon, MLE, Peter Black – Dave Nada is about to join Skrillex’s Mothership tour for 33 dates with the massively popular electronic guru. And 3 weeks after Nadastrom opens for Skrillex at the First Bank Center he will be headlining at the Gothic with an excellent and diverse lineup of some of our favorite locals! Nada has developed his original genre of electronic music, Moombahton that involves slowing a track to 108 BPM, chopped vocals, layered acapellas, extended and enhanced build ups, and the introduction of new drums and percussion elements. Growing in influence since the beginning of the summer Nadastrom and moombaton have been the new hype with shout outs and features on NPR, Rolling Stone and BBC Radio1 which did a “Mombathon Special” as well as some big name DJ’s like Deadmau5. LOCALS HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY THROW DOWN w/ ANESTHESIA BLVD, Places, Mr. Right, and DJ Noos
MONDAY 10.31.11 – This will be the costume party of all costume parties, with drink specials and surprises around every corner. Not to mention a sound track provided by some of the fastest rising local bands in the state. Anesthesia BLVD are making waves in the Denver music scene and beyond; coming off a hugely successful headlining show at The Fox Theatre (Boulder), while working on new songs, these guys can testify that being rockers is hard work. They’re ready to blow off some steam with Mr. Right, a Denver/Fort Collins outfit that blends pop hooks with a Beastie-Boys-like intensity. Proudly hosting our locals year ’round, the Gothic dares to ask— where spookier to be on All Hallows Eve?!
Wed, 10.19- the Gothic Theatre is proud to announce: THE SOUNDS w/ Natalia Kills and The Limousines!
Oh how we love these Swedish pop rockers, in over ten years they have written some epicly catchy songs, and produced one spectacular frontwoman: Maja Ivarsson. And by now, people know when it comes to sassy, confident, feel-good rock n roll THE SOUNDSare the gold standard. Staying true to their New Wave and pop-punk sound, the group’s wonderful mix of old and new, electronic, sass and smarts shines gloriously on their new album, Something To Die For. But unlike their last few albums, recorded in the US with different producers and studios, this album is all The Sounds; not only did the band produce the album themselves, but they wrote and recorded it in their very own studio over much of 2010. After attacking the studio themselves, their new battle cry is to “conquer our planet with dance,” and that objective remains clear on the anthemic, electro-fueled tracks with the full sound you can only create with a full band! This show is going to be one hell of a good time and one of the best excuses this Fall to dance your ass off! Live at the US Open of Surf in June: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE1AQmX8p7I
