We are excited to announce the return of REAL ESTATE to Denver! This time, at the Gothic! These guys are on top of the indie rock world right now and since their headlining debut at Moe’s last November they’ve gotten a lot of attention. Their sophomore album Days released in October of last year was named one of Pitchfork’s top ten records of 2011, and they really seem to be Pitchfork’s darlings (the website just about covers their every move). Which is ok by me since they pointed out the new song that the guys played three weeks ago on WXPN’s “World Cafe Live”; see if you can catch “In My Car” at around the 25 minute mark and enjoy a bunch of beautifully played tracks off of Days http://www.npr.org/event/music/144737168/world-cafe-live-real-estate-in-concert. You don’t get more hip than this on Friday April 27th.

As you know, The Gothic is one of BUCKETHEAD’s favorite places to play, so he’s decided to bring along his friend, THAT 1 GUY to be exact! They will be performing together as the FRANKENSTEIN BROTHERS on Wednesday April 25th (and so ya- we’re not talking about the Denver based movie http://www.frankensteinbros.com/) We are stoked for this bad ass combination of musicians, no doubt they will be playing off of their 6 track 2008 release Bolt on Neck and some fresh collaborations. Check out the title track from the album (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LAA_8OBas4) and don’t miss this unique duo!

We are pleased to announce that RUSTED ROOT will headline the Gothic on Saturday April 14th with Skinny Lister and Denver’s own, Mr. Right! We haven’t seen Rusted Root around in a while and we’re excited to see what they have in store for us – of COURSE we still LOVE the old stuff – Send us on our way ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGMabBGydC0! Their combination of folk, rock, pop and blue grass always makes for fun show for all ages! Tickets go on sale on Thursday February 9th at 10am. This is going to be a big one!

We are pleased to announce a new addition to the Gothic lineup for 2012! Bop Skizzum will be hosting their first annual NERD PROM! Dress to impress with your most awesome Geek Chic and dance the night away with Wheelchair Sports Camp, Della, Broken Tongues and of course your hosts Bop Skizzum! This is going to be one Totally Radical Night!

On Friday January 20th LOLA BLACK headline’s the Gothic for their highly anticipated CD and Video Release! They will be joined by special guests Warner Drive, Calibrate Me and Surviving April. Their new album entitled Dia De Los Borrachos (translates to The Day of the Drunk a play on The Day of the Dead) was recorded here in Denver at the Green Door recording studio and mixed and mastered at the Blasting Room in Fort Collins. They’ve been slowly releasing and testing new songs off of it in the past month to hugely positive fan reactions – the first single, Better Left Unsaid – is already available on iTunes and widely popular. As always they will be bringing their over the top stage production for this night that will be all their own. And to celebrate further and give back to their fans, Lola will include a free copy of the new album with every ticket purchased ($10) before it is release in it’s entirety on iTunes the following Tuesday Jan 24th. We are so excited to be a part of this tremendous local band’s next steps!

The latest addition to our comedy series with Grapes of Rad Productions has changed. Due to extenuating circumstances Brett Gelman will no longer be headlining the Gothic on Thursday December 8th but will be replaced by the even funnier RORY SCOVEL who will still be supported by Chris Charpentier and Total Ghost. Mixing his spontaneous creativity and absurd view of the world, L.A. based comedian Rory Scovel is quickly making a name for himself across North America. Rory has appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, and has opened theater shows for such comics as Louis C.K., Daniel Tosh and Nick Swardson. We’re at it again with more fresh electronic dance music on this big holiday weekend with FLOSSTRADAMUS, Gantman, Supreme Cuts and Sorry For Partying presented by This Song Is Sick.com These Chicago grown DJs have been dominating the party scene across the country with their incredible tag-team DJ sets (3 turntables, 2 mixers) for over a year and show no sign of slowing down! Their most popular remix is of lil Jon’s track “Act A Fool” and no matter how you feel about the dreadlocked rapper you can’t help but move your feet to this track (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VpK3ZX58wg) But they don’t just remix hip hop they have a minimal head-nodding track remixing indie duo Matt and Kim’s track “Yea Yeah”. WE are pleased to announce the next addition to the Gothic’s history of tremendous Metal shows with CHILDREN OF BODOM’s 15th Anniversary North American Headlining Tour on February 7th 2012. Continuing to tour the glob in support of their critically acclaimed new album Relentless Reckless Forever and fronted by vocalist and guitar hero Alexi Laiho, the band’s high-energy hooks and electric energy forge metal anthems that “seeth with marvelous musicianship”.
