Yerkish (yƻrkish) n. An artificial language using geometric forms to represent words, created for experimental communication between chimpanzees and humans.
Bursting onto the Denver music scene like some crazed and hungry monkey on a fallen banana, Yerkish has been unrolling a frenzy of high-energy, cerebral, fast changing, and experimental rock and/or roll since 2005. When you collaborate four artists from various musical backgrounds, such as classical, heavy metal, jazz, indie prog rock, mariachi, and Peruvian soul, a refreshing ensemble called Yerkish is bound to render an incredible audio/visual experience. Mixing their own film and animation, they mesmerize their audience with a unique production that compliments their high voltage sound. Yerkish has been headlining venues such as the Oriental Theater, Lions Lair, Hermans Hideaway, Larimer Lounge, Cricket on the Hill, and several other rock establishments. Yerkish will continue to evolve by gracing listeners with new recordings and pushing the envelope through their live performances and writing process.
