Garaj Mahal, a highly competent and fiercely aggressive instrumental quartet, recently showed why they are one of the best kept secrets of the jam band genreFour world-class musicians, each with their own flair for improvisation and spiritual passion, return to the east coast this Winter 2002. Known collectively as Garaj Mahal, the members fuse their disparate musical styles and engaging passionate improvisation with an organic, groove saturated sound. Garaj Mahal is: Kai Eckhardt, one of the world’s most innovative bass players best known for his work in the John Mclaughlin Trio, Fareed Haque, international BlueNote recording guitarist that effortlessly moves from classical to jazz styles, one of the most sought after musicians in the Bay Area, drummer Alan Hertz, and the Chicago area’s premier keyboardist, Eric Levy.
