Francophone

Francophone is Sam Cooper (guitar/vocals), Charley Hine (bass), and Chris Stibrany (drums). Established in Boulder in January 2004, the trio has played over 25 shows in the Denver/Boulder area and will continue to dazzle and destroy the Colorado music scene in 2005. The band came together when Sam (then-guitarist for Two Lane Road) and Charley (then-guitarist for Bop Skizzum) met over the internet and decided to start a new band to better reflect their hard-rock and indie-rock interests. Sam’s high-school friend Chris filled the drum throne while Charley picked up bass: Francophone was born. Within a few months, Francophone made their ferocious debut at CU-Boulder’s Buffapolooza (all three members will be graduating in May 2005). With tremendous post-modern power-trio force, the boys began nudging their way onto stages all over the Front Range. By November, Charley and Sam had both stepped out of their previous bands to focus on Francophone. In May 2004, Francophone recorded the five-song The Admiral EP, which can be heard occasionally on 1190 AM or 93.3 FM. They are preparing to record another EP in the near future.
