Hailing from a focused vision, hard work and dedication, FACECAGE has been making uncompromising metal for two years. This band has always followed their own concept regarding the music they write; concentrating on their initial goals and committing to forge their own sound in a genre that does not often reward originality.
A midst the evolving genre of metal, FACECAGE has achieved not only a new sound of metal, but also a new level of entertainment. A powerful stage show, coupled with diverse musical talent affords FACECAGE a more authentic presentation of their heart-throbbing metal and magnetic stage theatrics. The only thing that matters to FACECAGE is making music that resonates not only in their own hearts, but also in the hearts of people that can appreciate uncompromising, unrelenting heavy music.
The origin of FACECAGE dates back to June of 2001. Wasting little time, FACECAGE quickly hit the club circuit and established themselves as a powerful and professional live act, opening for many metal national artists (hed pe, Nonpoint, Black Label Society, Static X, 40 Below Summer, Spineshank, RA, Adema, Staind, Powerman 5000, E Town Concrete, Unloco, Double Drive, Lo Pro, and more) and encountering swift fan devotion with every performance. FACECAGE has developed a tremendous and loyal following built on the strength of their energetic, crowd-inspiring live show. Thirteen months succeeding the formation of FACECAGE, the band released their self-titled CD to a near sold out crowd at the famous, Hairy Marys in Des Moines. Within one month of the FACECAGE release national praise soon followed as FACECAGE was named one of the top 20 unsigned bands by XM Liquid Metal Radio. Due to the obvious strength of the CD, the Metal Post of San Francisco named “Facecage” the best independently released CD of the year for 2002.
A consistent show schedule solidified their growing reputation as one of metal underground’s most promising bands. In January of 2003, FACECAGE was invited to showcase their captivating stage show at the legendary South by Southwest Music and Interactive Festival in Austin Texas as well as securing a track on the SXSW compilation Metal CD. February 2003 marked the beginning of the band’s first tour, Breeding the Violence. A wave of deafening fan acceptance was evident at every show. In July 2004 “ii” was released, and has seven songs already on regular rotation at XM Liquid Metal radio and other stations across the United States. ZTZ of America and other record labels shared the enthusiasm of FACECAGE fans and have taken notice of the band’s artistic integrity and musical vision. As measured by their resounding acceptance and success the time has come for these stalwarts to rise from the underground and take their rightful place amongst the metal legends.
