The Teutonic duo Das Ich plays intense, anguished industrial music bolstered by purely German lyrics and the alienated vocals of Stefan Ackermann. (Bruno Kramm is in charge of keyboards and programming.) The group bowed with the album Die Propheten in 1991 (re-released on Etherhaus in 1996), following that with the Stigma EP in 1994. The latter featured the track Der Schrei and three remarkably different versions of Von der Armut, one of them a reverse edit. That same year, the Staub LP arrived (also re-released on Etherhaus in 1996), followed by a sonically strong live album, Feuer, which was recorded throughout Germany in ‘95. Egodram came out in ‘98, while the new millenium saw the release of 2001’s Re Laborat and 2002’s Anti’ Christ
