One word to describe the music of Cryogen…uncompromising. Equal parts death metal, black metal, and NWOAHM. Cryogen fills a void within the current landscape by uniting instrumental melody with crushing vocal and rhythmic delivery – all without compromising dynamics. If you’re a metal fan into dual-guitar harmonies, punishing double-kick, and lyrics tackling subjects from corporate greed to religious fundamentalism, Cryogen is the band you’ve been looking for.
The Cryogen lineup solidified in early 2004, with Brian Sawyer adding lead guitar to then Forever Broken members Ryan Conner, Matt Lyon, and Matt Benson. After nine months of writing and rehearsing, Cryogen recorded a demo at MindCycle studios (operated by engineers Ryan Conner and Matt Lyon). While playing numerous shows in the Denver area through 2005, Cryogen began recording their debut album “Premonition” in February ‘05.
Cryogen releases their first full-length CD in October ‘05. They’ll be playing extensively in the Denver area following the CD release, and the shows will be nothing short of INTENSE!
