The Future of Funk, Rock, Hip Hop, and Soul, is safe in the hands of this eclectic group of musicians. Embracing all styles of music, mixing tower of power horn lines with Chili Pepper esc style riffs, Bop Skizzum is never afraid to try something new. Their creativity is matched only by their power and presence on stage which packs a walloping punch.
Formed in the summer of 1999, this five-piece funk rocking super soul band has already released two EP’s (Elastic Phunk, and Reverberating Funk) and recently finished recording their first Full Length Album entitled Waiting For due out in 2003. Their unique style and incredibly energetic live shows has earned them spots opening for acts like GEORGE CLINTON & PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC, FISHBONE, G. LOVE AND SPECIAL SAUCE, FLOGGLING MOLLY, VIOLENT FEMMES, TOWER OF POWER, SONIA DADA, KARL DENSON, DEEP BANNANA BLACK OUT, MONEY MARK (from the beastie boys), ROBERT WALTER’S 20TH CONGRESS, FIVE FINGERS OF FUNK, LIQUID SOUL, THE PHUNK JUNKEEZ, and UNCLE KRACKER (Kid Rock’s DJ) just to name a few.
Bop Skizzum has had the privilege of being able to perform at theaters such as the Gothic, Bluebird, Ogden, Fox, Tulagi’s, Aggie, Starlight, and many more. Bop Skizzum has also performed in venues including the Hard Rock Café, Mercury Café, Paramount Café, and Quixote’s True Blue. Featured artist’s of the month in RIFF Music Magazine and currently getting ready to take their act on the road, Bop Skizzum wants to spread their Funk and love all over the country and globe.
