Bone Crusher

Add To Favorites

This Atlanta, Georgia, USA-based rapper broke into the mainstream charts in 2003 owing to the popularity of “Never Scared”. Taking his moniker from his hefty 300lb plus frame, Bone Crusher first registered on the rap scene in the mid-90s as part of the Atlanta-based Lyrical Giants aka the LGs. Although this outfit only ever enjoyed success on the local underground market, they gained a reputation as lyricists of note enabling the various members to find work writing for other rappers. Bone Crusher placed rhymes with artists such as Too $hort and the Dungeon Family during this period, but economic necessity meant he was required to work as a chef to supplement his income.
In the new millennium he decided to resurrect his music career, and immediately broke big on the Atlanta scene with the independently produced “Never Scared’. He signed a joint recording contract with the Break “Em Records and So So Def labels, and re-recorded some of his earlier demos for inclusion on his major label debut, AttenCHUN!. The album was a fairly lame attempt to replicate the propulsive flow of “Never Scared”, but despite mixed reviews AttenCHUN! debuted in the US Top 10 in May 2003. The rapper gained further notoriety for his raucous live performances, resulting in a five city ban for inciting violence. (NB: Not to be confused with the hardcore punk band of the same name).
