Against Me!
Heavily influenced by Billy Bragg and the sounds of the “Dirty South”, Against Me! cleverly disguise their strong leftist opinions with sincere poetic lyrics. With a signature punk sound driven by distinct vocals, they defy all genres and incorporate aspects of alt-country, hardcore, folk, punk, and even blues. As the pride of Gainesville, their punk-as-fuck ethics have earned them a colossal fan following and the respect of the greater music community.
Their Fat debut, The Eternal Cowboy, is gonna be such a hit that these kids are now going to be able to bathe on a regular basis. It’s a breakthrough for both music and personal hygiene. And these young hellions wouldn’t stop touring even if you offered them beer in the afterlife—so for better or worse—you can expect to see them in your town regularly. We would like to point out that they are wonderful houseguests. We would also like to take this opportunity to say hello to Andrew’s mom.
