8 OM

8 Om

The raw passion and emotion that 8 Om pumps into their songs have them screaming with a life all their own. Combining melodic rock with post-hardcore angst, 8 Om continues to push the threshold of modern rock music.

Since the band’s formation in the summer of 2002, 8 Om has come a long way with their song writing skills and their remarkable live performance. With a solid lineup of hardworking, dedicated individuals, 8 Om has found their unique sound with singer Brian Kato, guitarist Ross Edsall, drummer Jason Jajola, and bassist TJ Monell.

After the release of their 2002 Self Titled EP and two years of success on the Colorado rock scene, 8 Om has now released their much anticipated 2004 EP, The Pink of Condition.

In early March of 2004 the band holed up at 4th Street Recording in Santa Monica, CA to begin work on their latest EP. Within five, fourteen hour a-day recording sessions, 8 Om’s collective labors have resulted in The Pink of Condition, a solid collection of 6 tracks that sparkle with sincerity. Having producer/engineer Donat Kazarinoff (whose credits include Incubus, Alien Ant Farm, CKY and Onesidezero) at the helm, 8 Om has successfully crafted their hardest hitting, most emotionally driven recording to date. Moving through tight grooves, heavy rhythms, aggressive breakdowns, and pop hooks, ridden with firey vocal intensity; The Pink of Condition breathes new life into the world of modern rock.

Lyricist/vocalist Brian Kato’s abilities have reached new heights, shifting brilliantly from soft, passionate melodies to full on emotion-filled intensity. The Pink of Condition deals with self liberation and searching the soul in realization that nothing in life is trivial and all is but what you make of it.

No matter what you call your particular brand of music, 8 Om has got something in store for you. Label it how you will ‘rock’, ‘pop’, ‘screamo’, ‘hardcore’, or ‘nu metal’; it all plays a part here.
