12 Tribes

Twelve Tribes formed out of a Dayton, Ohio basement in 1997. The original members came together as the deterioration of several bands from the area-only to learn that big ego’s and bad jokes don’t account for good music. The earliest songs the band recorded landed on a self-titled demo, which sold mainly to hessians and local kids, but provided a foundation to work from. In the following months they changed the line up and recorded a second demo, entitled “Two Cleft Tongues”. With that release and a lot of optimism they toured the east coast with another emerging band, Poison The Well. These shows together established a real significance of what it means to play music. Eventually the demo found it’s way to Eulogy Recordings; Eulogy rocked it, and the “As Feathers to Flowers and Petals to Wings” CD was released. For the rest of 1999 the band toured regularly, introducing their heinous sound and presence to the country. 2000 brought the release of the highly anticipated
“[i n s t r u m e n t s]” MCD. More touring and sickening displays came with Twelve Tribes increasing popularity and there is so much more to come. Essentially, the specifics of this music could be interpreted a hundred different ways-”we play rock and it’s beautiful”.
